Additive Processes

SyBridge is capable of producing extensive 3D printing parts and tools to meet the demands of any prototyping or custom manufacturing project. Our 3D printing capabilities include:

Selective Laser Melting

Selective Laser Melting (SLM) uses targeted lasers to melt individual thin layers of metal alloy powder to create heat resistant parts in one step with fine details, no matter the design’s geometric complexity.

Benefits:

  • On-demand, unified parts produced with reduced cycle time, ideal for prototyping or low-volume production.
  • Material options to align with any industry, design requirements, all with reduced assembly time.
  • Allows for part consolidation, reducing assembly time, and reduced part weight.

Materials: Aluminum Alloy, Maraging Steel, Nickel Alloy, Stainless Steel

Carbon Digital Light Synthesis

Carbon Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) uses digital UV light projection, oxygen permeable optics, and programmable liquid resins to make reliable, watertight, isotropic plastic parts with a surface finish similar to injection molding.

Benefits:

  • Parts produced by Carbon DLS are stronger and more resilient with exceptional accuracy and mechanical properties
  • Carbon DLS parts undergo secondary thermal curing to ensure produced parts have engineering-grade mechanical properties

Materials: Epoxy (EPX), Rigid Polyurethane (RPU), Flexible Polyurethane (FPU), Elastomeric, Polyurethane (EPU), Multi-Purpose Polyurethane (MPU)

Fused Deposition Modeling

FDM is a fast and cost-effective 3D printing process whereby plastic resin is deposited layer-by-layer, producing a functional and durable part.

Benefits:

  • FDM allows for production of parts with complex geometries in small quantities, ideal for prototyping
  • FDM [or Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)] allows for a wide range of thermoplastic material selection for parts resistant to heat, as well as mechanical and chemical stresses.
  • For when you need strong parts fast, with accuracy for testing your design concept.

Materials: Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), Polycarbonate (PC), Nylon, Acrylonitrile, Styrene Acrylate (ASA), ULTEM 1010 [high-performance polyetherimide (PEI)], ULTEM 9085 (flame-retardant, high-performance thermoplastic)

HP Multi Jet Fusion

HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) uses an inkjet array to selectively apply fusing and detailing agents to a layer of powder, followed by the application of thermal energy to fuse the powder together into a solid 3D object.

Benefits:

  • HP MJF is capable of making parts ranging from rapid prototypes to industrial-grade, end-use components
  • Each layer is printed while still hot so layers fuse together producing functional parts with fine detail, and isotropic strength
  • Parts printed in bulk for faster print times, part consolidation, and reduced assembly
  • Wide range of materials for parts with high accuracy and chemical resistance

Materials: PA 11, PA 12, Polypropylene (PP)

Stereolithography

Stereolithography (SLA) is a 3D printing technology that uses a liquid photopolymer resin and a laser to create solid 3D objects layer by layer.

  • Produce millimeter- to meter-sized parts with fine detail, and unwavering resolution and accuracy from end-to-end.
  • Access a variety of material options to fit design requirements, including ideal part manufacturing for prototyping and low volume production.
  • SLA printed parts are isotropic, having equal strength in the XY plane as well as through the Z-axis.

Materials: Rigid (white, 92D Hardness, Strong/brittle for more industrial applications)

Selective Laser Sintering

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) uses a laser to fuse powdered materials into a solid 3D object. The process involves spreading a thin layer of powdered material, such as nylon, on a build platform, and then using a high-powered laser to selectively fuse the powder together, layer by layer, according to a 3D model.

Benefits:

  • Lower cost per part without sacrificing quality, strength, or productivity.
  • Get strong and functional parts through an efficient process, reducing post-processing steps.
  • High quality parts with exceptional accuracy, resolution, edge definition and surface finish.

Materials: Polyamide Nylon (PA), Glass-Filled Nylon
